After completing four years at the Gymnasium Vienna Boys Choir, Mark continues his education at the High school for art and music at Hegelgasse in Vienna. In order to enroll in this prestigious school, it was necessary to pass the entrance exam, which Mark did successfully. From September 2022 he will acquire and improve his knowledge in the field of Polyestics with a focus on music, acting, dance and painting.
“The entrance exam was something completely new and exciting for me. I didn’t have much time to prepare, but I tried my best to present myself perfectly to the committee. I had no nervousness during the entrance exam itself. I prepared well and that’s why I was able to introduce myself in a relaxed manner, which all contributed to my being accepted,” says Mark about his experience at the entrance exam at the new school where he will spend the next four years.
I prepared an interesting monologue from the play “Die Möwe” by Anton Chekhov, I played the piano and sang one of my compositions, then I sang another assigned song. It was also necessary to show my creativity through painting and I took about 15 of my works with me. In the field of acting, I received a choreography that I successfully presented to the jury, and also in the field of acting, I had the additional task of improvising one character spontaneously, on the spot. It was very, very interesting,” Mark explains with a laugh the complete procedure of the entrance exam that he had to pass successfully in order to be admitted to the new school.
“I am grateful to my friend Ivi Urban, who helped me prepare well for the exam and who worked with me on certain details. She also completed acting and dancing at the school in Hegelgasse and is today a successful actress and choreographer. Her experience and professionalism helped me prepare well for the entrance exam.”
“I chose this school because I want to do acting as well.” Music and acting are my two greatest loves, but I’m still not sure which one I’ll choose. I was thinking that I might be able to do both music and acting together. Why couldn`t I !? The most important thing is to believe in something you want and it will come true. Mark revealed to us his plans for the future and how he manages to make his wishes and goals come true.
